Plaint filed against one for disrupting 108 Services

PANJIM: GVK EMRI, operating 108 Ambulance Service in the State on Saturday lodged a police complaint accusing one of its former employee for trying to disrupt essential services by joining hands with Revolutionary Goans.

Sushma Saini, State Head, GVK EMRI in a complaint to Deputy Inspector General of Police has alleged that one Anup Naik of Bicholim, with the help of the NGO, is trying to disrupt the Essential Services of 108 Ambulance Service at a time when the frontline warriors are fighting COVID-19 pandemic.

The complaint letter, copy of which is submitted to the Agassaim Police Station, has requested police protection of the office premises at GMC, Bambolim, while she apprehended that the miscreants could hamper the Call Centre Service of 108 and damage the government assets and property which includes four-wheeler ambulances, bike ambulances and office staff vehicles parked in the office premises.

The police have conformed receipt of the complaint. “We are inquiring into the matter,” an officer said. 

Meanwhile, a group of GVK EMRI workers have complained against the ill-treatment meted out by their superior. 

Speaking to the reporters, one of them alleged that they are being mistreated by their Program Manager despite tirelessly working during the prevailing situation. 

“We don’t need our Program Manager. He is harassing us,” he alleged while also criticising ‘termination letter’ to some of its employees.
