VASCO: A playground and a stage named Shri Chatrapati Shivaji Vyaspith were inaugurated by Urban Development Minister and MLA Mormugao Constituency Milind Naik on Saturday near Kalavati Aai Temple in Ward No. 3, here.
Speaking on the occasion, Naik stated that the playground and a stage in Ward No. 3 near Kalavati Aai Temple were a much awaited work and the locals nearby wanted one.
He further said that playground of Ward No. 3 will be very useful for the public and will be used for playing, walking, recreational place for senior citizen and also for important meetings of organisations and political parties.
“Besides, there is also a Kalavati Aai Temple and people will benefit from such wonderful playground,” Naik added.
Later, Ward Councillor Shashikant Parab said that people from Sada are requested to make better use of this playground and stage. It is requested that to maintain cleanliness of this place.
When asked more, Parab added that the development of this playground and the Chatrapathi Shivaji Vyaspith has been carried out under 14th Finance Scheme of municipality with an estimated cost of Rs 30 lakh.
Councillor Leo Rodrigues, Murari Bandekar, Damodar Kaskar, BJP Mormugao Block President Sanjay Satardekar and Dr Dharmendra Prabhudessai were also present.
