Police arrest 5 more in stabbing case

SDPO Jivba Dalvi informed that Manoj Singh, who is running a club at Calangute is also involved in the case and is presently absconding.

MAPUSA: Anjuna Police on Monday arrested five more persons in connection to the stabbing case of Ravi Shirodkar, a resident of Calangute, at Nagoa-Arpora.

The five alleged accused namely Rajesh Kerkar alias Ludu from Morod- Saligao, Sagar Patil, Sahil Pednekar, Sagar Vavalapi from Candolim and Shramit Sakhalkar from Saligao were absconding after the commission of the crime and were hiding in a hotel at Amboli, Maharashtra.

When Anjuna Police Station Police Inspector Prashal Desai received inputs about their whereabouts, a team headed by PSI Sahil Varak conducted a raid on Sunday night and detained all five of them.

SDPO Jivba Dalvi informed that Manoj Singh, who is running a club at Calangute is also involved in the case and is presently absconding. Manoj is a brother of Gajendra Singh alias Chotu a notorious criminal.

“We have also learnt that Manoj is also involved in illicit activities of supplying girls to the accused persons,” SDPO Jivba Dalvi said. SDPO Dalvi said that Anjuna Police have submitted a confidential report to Calangute Police Station.
