PANJIM: Goa Police on Tuesday said they are thoroughly investigating allegations that have surfaced in a video claiming that a BJP Sattari leader and few others were involved in the killing of one Shanu Gaonkar of Saleli-Sattari.
Speaking to Herald, Superintendent of Police (North-Goa) Karthik Kashyap said that all the allegations made in the video are being probed and a fresh look is being given to the missing person’s case registered in 2006 at Valpoi police station.
He said that the people named in the video by the former driver of Vishwajit Krishanrao Rane are being questioned. Police sources said that the driver, Pandurang Arthalkar, was traced following the video surfacing on social media.
Arthalkar, who is a native of Changad Maharashtra, is with the Goa Police for the last 3-4 days, the source said. Gaonkar had gone missing in 2006 and a missing person’s complaint was registered at Valpoi Police Station. However, the case was later closed and even the papers destroyed a year back.
