Police say ‘family dispute’ is the motive for Calangute sibling murder

Goa is in a state of disbelief after the double-murder of two young siblings in Candolim allegedly, by their father on Saturday, who later reportedly committed suicide. The police have registered the killing of the siblings as murder and attribute the motive to a ‘family dispute’.  The report confirmed that the children had died due to “asphyxia as a result of strangulation by a ligature which was fatal in the ordinary course of nature”. Fernandes later allegedly committed suicide following the incident.

The funeral of Joy and his two children Annalise and Joseph is being held on January 10. The funeral cortege leaves their residence at 3.30 pm for a Eucharistic celebration at 4 pm at Our Lady of Hope Church, Candolim followed by burial.
