VASCO: The Goa police finally succeeded in tracing the missing girl who had disappeared from the protective home after a massive manhunt of around 10 days.
SP South Arvind Gawas said the girl was traced in Mapusa and was brought back to Verna police station for further inquiry.
Goa police had constituted eight teams to search the girl.
When contacted SP Arvind Gawas said the missing girl was staying with one of her female close friend after she went missing. For the past two weeks around 50 police personnel were deployed in the massive search operations and police were investigating the matter.
SP Gawas further revealed that Child Welfare Committee (CWC) had strong objections in disclosing details about women and child victim, therefore the police cannot disclose more considering the security aspect of the victim.” The missing girl is safe and police are carrying out their inquiry,” said Gawas.
It may be recalled that the girl who staying in the convent and was pursuing Fashion designing course had gone missing in the last week of April and a missing complaint was registered by Verna police.
The minor girl was involved in an alleged rape case by the Panjim Congress candidate for the Assembly by-polls.
