PANJIM: The results of all the 40 constituencies of Goa Legislative
Assembly would be out within six hours on March 11- with counting
scheduled to take place in North and South Goa.
Total 251 candidates fate would be decided on March 11. The
polling that held on February 4, saw record turnout with nearly 82 percent
voters casting their vote.

The District
Collectors of South and North have worked out a detailed strategy during the
counting of votes, which would be held at Bal Bhavan in Panjim and New
Government College of Arts and Commerce at Borda in Margao.
“The first result is expected to be announced by 10 AM.
The entire counting process would be over in six hours from the beginning,” a
senior official said. The process to count the votes will begin at 8
AM on March 11, which will decide the fate of next State government.
Official said that all the results are expected to be
announced by 2 PM.
The Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) that has the fate of
candidates sealed are kept in strong rooms in the respective districts.
Goa has witnessed four cornered fight between BJP, Congress,
AAP and Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) led alliance during the recently
held polls.
Meanwhile, with nearly 14,000 postal ballot votes of
government servants and police personnel are yet to be received, the Chief
Electoral Office (CEO) has organized special camps at taluka level at Returning
Officers offices on Saturday for casting postal ballots by standard procedures.
The last date for casting the ballot is morning on March 11.
Following allegations from sections of
people especially political parties that the government servants are
pressurized to issue postal ballot in their favour, the CEO had earlier warned
to initiate action under the law against anyone offering bribe or pressure or
anyone accepting bribe or demanding bribe for postal ballot.
