Sanguem: A portion of the road to Margao via Chandor at Dr. Ambedkar junction is totally washed away in the very first rains and has become non-motorable. However the authorities have not taken any action to repair the portion of the road from Dr. Ambedkar junction to the Curchorem Fire Station.
The top layer of the road has been washed away with gravel spread all over the road which can be dangerous for the vehicle riders. Morever with the size of potholes increasing each day, the motorists particularly two-wheeler riders are finding it rather difficult. The situation is made worse when its rains heavily and the potholes are under water.
Incidentally the contractor was supposed to get the road hot-mixed prior to the onset of monsoon, it was however delayed on account of administrative problems.
The road users have urged the government to temporarily repair the portion of road from Dr. Ambedkar Junction to Curchorem Fire Station to avoid any accidents from taking place.
