Potato, onion prices shoot up

PANJIM, JAN 9 Though overall vegetable and fruit market in the city remained unaffected by the fuel shortage, prices of onions and potatoes did rise on the second day of indefinite strike by three public sector oil companies.

Though overall  vegetable and fruit market  in the city  remained  unaffected  by  the fuel shortage, prices of   onions and potatoes  did rise  on the second day  of    indefinite  strike by three  public  sector  oil companies.  The retail price of potatoes went up by Rs 2 whereas price of onion per kg, was up by Rs 4.
On  Friday,  onions  were  sold  at  Rs  28 per kg as  against  Rs 24  per   kg, a day  before. Prices of potatoes and onions are expected to be normal once the fuel supply is regulated.
