Private hospitals get training to fight H1N1 flu

Ten staff members of Vivus and SMRC in Vasco were trained by the Directorate of Health Services on Wednesday to screen people for swine flu.
Dr Jose de Sa, the acting nodal officer, said the training was keeping in view with the commitment of five private hospitals to join hands with the Government to fight swine flu.
Dr de Sa said on Wednesday training-cum-meeting programmes were held at the Cottage Hospital in Chicalim, Vivus and SMRC to build up coordinated linkages to tackle the H1N1 influenza.
He informed a similar exercise would be undertaken tomorrow morning to systematically link up the NUSI and Apollo-Victor hospitals in South Goa to Hospicio Hospital in Margao.        
Vivus, SMRC, Apollo-Victor, NUSI and Manipal are the five hospitals that have assured the Government help to tackle swine flu.
