VASCO: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday said that the investigation into the attack of RTI activist Narayan Naik of Sancoale is on right track and that the assailants will be arrested soon.
Speaking to the media persons on the sidelines of a programme in the port town, Sawant said the case has been transferred to the Crime Branch and that he has full faith in the investigating agency as the probe is on the right track. He said that one accused has already been arrested and the absconding culprits will also be nabbed by the police.
When asked why the police are delaying the arrest of other assailants when one of the accused had already disclosed their names, the Chief Minister said that the police are investigating the case and will collect all evidence and arrest all the culprits. To another question, the Chief Minister said that the investigation into the suicide by three family members from Bijapur-Karnataka will be fast-tracked. Since the suicide case appeared to be sensitive, it was transferred to the Crime Branch, he said.
