With the Evacuees holding the land as Class-II occupants, the Evacuees face several problems despite owning the land as exclusive owners.

In the absence of ownership rights as Class-I occupants, the Evacuees could not mortgage the plots and obtained loans for the development works of the plots allotted to them.

The authorities have also assured of issuing the Sanads to the Evacuees who are already been allotted with the plots but till date are not issued with the Sanad.

In Monday’s operation, Deputy Collector Ajay Gaude visited Wadem Colony No. I with his full team of officials to verify the documents possessed by the Selaulim Evacuees to complete the process of allocating Class I occupancy rights to the beneficiaries.

The details will then be compared with the records maintained by the Water Resources Department after which the claims for the allocation of Class I status will be decided and conferred upon.

Gaude informed that the team will camp at Wadem Village on Tuesday also and will proceed to Valkini Colony No. I on Wednesday.
