PANJIM: The Progressive Front of Goa (PFG) has accused the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) of having committed huge scam and demanded an investigation by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The forum has alleged that Rs 50 crore works shown by the GSIDC exist only in paper.
Addressing a press conference in the capital on Sunday, Hrudaynath Shirodkar also sought to know government’s wisdom for undertaking works of filling of potholes, which is actually the domain of the Public Works Department.
“The entire GSIDC is a big scam. They have shown Rs 50 crore works, but in reality, there is nothing. The Corporation was created as a special purpose vehicle for fast track development, but it is leading elsewhere to cheat the people of Goa,” he slammed.
Shirodkar said that he has evidences to prove that works such as concreting of a part of Panjim roads, resurfacing of potholes in Panjim, upgrading of Cottage Hospital, construction of a compound wall at Solid Waste Management Pant at Saligao, and several other works including school buildings are either not undertaken or up to the mark.
The forum also hit out at Goa Forward Party’s claims on sub-standard materials used for building roads.
Shirodkar sought to know as to why the party was silent while its leaders were ministers in the government. In view of all these allegations, the PGF has demanded a CBI probe.
Shirodkar also alleged that an off-shore casino has been operating through fake documents warning to approach the court.
