VASCO: In a surprise raid, Verna Police on Saturday busted a prostitution racket and arrested two persons and rescued the victim girl. The victim was later sent to State protective home at Merces.
Verna PI Sandesh Chodankar informed that on Saturday near Birla Cross junction Cortalim, the accused 19-year-old Saroj Surendra Betkikar, a resident of Mount Mary Colony, Verna, was caught red-handed while delivering the victim girl from Maharashtra for the purpose of prostitution.
PI Chodankar informed that police also arrested Mangala Vishal Kuradkar, currently residing in Benaulim.
Both of them are in police custody and have been booked under Sections 4 and 5 of ITP Act and Section 370 of IPC.
