PONDA: MGP leader Sudin Dhavalikar on Tuesday submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant through the Ponda Deputy Collector making demands to provide free mobiles and free Internet facilities for the poor students.
Dhavalikar also warned to stage an agitation if the demands are not fulfilled within 15 days.
The MGP leader placed the grievances of students, right from the schools to colleges with respect to net connectivity issue.
He recalled that last year, the Chief Minister in the Assembly House said that until online infrastructure and towers facilities are created, online education will not start in the State.
“The government has cheated the parents and students on this promise,” he said.
In its memorandum, the MGP has made four demands which includes proper network infrastructure with uninterrupted internet connectivity in the rural areas, free smart phones to the needy and poor students, free Internet connectivity to needy and poor students and teachers training to adopt online teaching.
