VASCO: Verna Police Thursday arrested a 31-year-old MBBS doctor from Pune in connection with the NEET impersonation case registered on May 7 this year.
According to PI Uday Parab, Dr Nabin Kumar, a native of Calcutta was the main accused person who had issued hall ticket to four accused persons who were arrested for impersonating during National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) held at two different schools in Goa including at Litera Primary Zee School, behind BITS Pilani Campus, Sancoale.
“On May 7th, following complaints from the principal of  Litera Primary Zee School, we had arrested two youth, both students from Bihar for impersonation during National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) held at Sancoale school.
“Later, while investigating the case we received information that the person who is part of a big racket and lives in Pune had provided hall ticket to these impersonators. Thus we laid trap to catch and the accused doctor was nabbed from Pune and was brought to Verna police station on Thursday. During interrogation, Kumar said that he had provided hall ticket on instructions of someone else. Now our efforts are on to trace the main accused person who is the mastermind behind the racket,” Parab said.
The Verna police have arrested Kumar under Sections 419, 420 and 511 r/w 34 of IPC.
