PANJIN: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will be visiting the State on the occasion of the 60th Goa Liberation Day, should announce when mining in Goa will resume, demanded Aam Aadmi Party leader Puti Gaonkar on Thursday.

In February 2019 Modi assured that he would look for a resolution to restart mining operations in the State.

Gaonkar said, “It’s been two years since then, the BJP government hasn’t taken any step to resume the mining in the State. The cessation of mining had affected 12,000 truck owners, 700 machinery and around three lakh families. Despite this, the BJP government has ignored this.”
