Quartet booked for transporting raw sewage in water tanker at Sancoale

VASCO: The Verna police on Friday registered a case against four persons including owners of water tanker and septic tanker for allegedly transporting sewage at Sancoale last week.

The police registered the case against water tanker owner Nazir Sayed of Zorint, Zuariangar, septic tanker owner Hazarat Patel Biradar from Birla, Zabi Ulla from Zuarinagar and one Jairam, whose full details not known.

The police stated that all the accused with their common intention, unlawfully acted in a negligent manner by transferring the sewerage from the septic tanker into the water tanker knowingly that the water tanker is being used for supplying/transportation of water for domestic purpose by the public, which would be harmful and may result in spreading infection/disease dangerous to life of the people, by using the said water.

The Verna police have registered the case against four persons under sections 268 and 269 read with 34 IPC. 

Head Constable Umesh Naik is conducting investigation under the guidance of Verna PI Diago Gracias and overall guidance of Mormugao DySP Salim Shaikh.

On the night of April 21, alert citizens from Sancoale area along with acting Sancoale Sarpanch Girish Pillai had caught a water supply tanker red-handed while transporting sewage.
