QUEPEM: Quepem police shuts down non-essential shops opened violating the guideline. PI Deepak Pednekar said, “I was also present when some shops were asked to close because they are not coming under essential commodity.”
Pednekar mentioned they had to clear some confusion among shopkeepers, like if wholesaler wine shop comes under essential commodity and they were allowed to stay open, said Pendekar. Same confusion was sorted with a shop selling newspaper and having a photo copy machine, but he had to close the shop as it doesn’t comply with essential commodity list.
