MARGAO: During the gram sabha in Raia, villagers resolved to take action against all scrap yards operating in the area and to monitor illegal construction activities. Responding to the villagers’ request, the panchayat body agreed to prioritise the repair work for the football ground.
The villagers also demanded action against the illegal parking of vehicles in Arlem, which causes inconvenience to commuters and the general public.
Interestingly, one villager raised concerns about illegal activities carried out by elected members themselves, urging the panchayat body to investigate.
