VASCO: Residents of Velsao received assurance from officials of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) that they will undertake de-silting of existing traditional drainage in the area before the onset of the monsoon.
The assurance comes after complaints from locals that RVNL workers had inadvertently buried the existing drainage while constructing a retaining wall.

MLA Vas emphasised the importance of drainage de-silting to prevent flooding during the monsoon, urging RVNL authorities to prioritise the task.
The Cortalim MLA also inspected the ongoing work of con constructing an underpass at Cansaulim, and said that the work would be completed on time. Former Velsao-Pale-Issorcim deputy sarpanch Roquezinho D’Souza also joined the site inspection.
