VASCO: The Railway Police Force (RPF) on Saturday morning found a pistol loaded with six live bullets and four other bullets under the seat of a general compartment at Vasco railway station.
Speaking to Herald, PSI P R Meena of RPF stated that the gun and bullets were found when the RPF Escorts Police were checking the train (12780) from Delhi to Goa (Goa Express) on Saturday at around 7.30 am. While on a routine duty of checking the train at the Vasco railway station, the escort police found a loaded pistol with six live rounds and another four live bullets under the seat of a general compartment at platform 1.
“The pistol is locally made and the bullets inside the pistol are of 7.65mm and KF category, while the other four bullets are 8mm of KF category,” PSI Meena added.
Meena further added that they also found a bag with clothes which they handed over to the Vasco Railway Police.
When contacted, the Vasco Railway Police stated that they have seized the material and have registered an offence against the unknown culprit under Section 3 read with 25 of Arms Act and have forwarded the case to the South Goa Collector.
