Railway track murder case cracked, 5 arrested

MARGAO: Five persons who are natives of Jharkhand have been arrested by the Konkan Railway Police for having allegedly murdered Jaileshwar Khadia, who is also a native of Jharkhand.  The case registered at Konkan Railway Police Station was worked out within 12 hours. 
On January 22, at 12.45 am, during patrolling, a railway gangman found an unknown male, aged about 30 years lying on the rail tracks at Dhargal, Pernem in unconscious state with multiple injuries on his head.
The deceased was shifted to District Hospital, Mapusa by 108 Ambulance where he was declared brought dead. 
Since the deceased had incised cut injuries, foul play was suspected in the death. A team was therefore formed under Sammy Tavares, Dy SP Konkan Railway consisting of PI Sherif J. Jaques, ASI, Arun Dessai, Police Constables Nilesh Sawant, Amardeep Choudhary, Sriniwas Reddy, Tejas Dhuri, Pradeep Gaonkar, Tanaji Rane, Viraj Malik, Pravin Rane, Sameer Shaikh all of Konkan Railwa P.S. and ASI Subhash V. Naik of Cuncolim P.S. 
During investigation, the deceased was identified as Khadia, who was working with one Vijay Sarmalkar at Dhargal and was staying along with a lady in his rented room. 7 more persons from Jharkhand were also working with Sarmalkar and were staying in separate rented rooms in the same area.
It came to light that the deceased and the above person went to a local bar on January 21 at about 8 pm and after having drinks had heated arguments over an incident which had taken place between them in Jharkhand. 
Thereafter 5 of the above persons coerced the deceased to accompany them on to the railway track at Dhargal where they assaulted him with a sharp weapon causing, serious injuries on his head and hand. The accused then laid him on the railway track, so as to make the scene as a rail accident.
A murder case has been registered u/s 302, 201, 341 r/w 34 IPC at Konkan Railway P.S.  The accused Vikram Tabde Khadiya, Satish Khadiya, Vipin Khadiya, Sanjay Khadiya and  Vinod Kullu were arrested on Friday and were remanded to 10 days police custody.
The team has been rewarded by Jaspal Singh IGP Goa. The case is being investigated by PI Sherif J. Jaques.
