Ratan, Harsh top BITSAT, JEE (Main)-2021 in State

They also stood second in both the exams

PANJIM: With the best score for Goa so far, Ratan Doddaliganwar and Harsh Khandeparkar from the Mustifund Aryans Higher Secondary School, have topped in the State in the BITSAT and JEE (Main)-2021, respectively. While Ratan stood second in JEE Main, Harsh was also at number two for BITSAT. 

As per the result declared by BITSAT, Ratan scored 399 out of 450 while Harsh’s score was 377. On the other hand according to the National testing Agency (NTA), Harsh scored 99.91 percentile topping in the State while Ratan stood second with 99.89 percentile. 

Mustifund Aryans HSS Director Venkatesh Prabhudesai said that this year for the BITSAT, despite pandemic, it was a record performance by the Aryans, as 17 students scored above 300 and six scored 350 plus. “We have beaten our old record of 2014, wherein 13 had scored over 300 plus marks,” he said. 

Sairaj Ghosarwadkar, who topped the Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET), ranked ninth in BITSAT with score of 338 along with Manali Manjrekar, the topper from HSS for Class XII board examination. She also ranked fifth in JEE Main with a score of 99.78 percentile. 

Prabhudesai said that since BITSAT was much tougher this year, the expected cut-off for dual degree programme was around 230 marks. 

As far as JEE Main is concerned, Prabhudesai said that 13 students scored above 99 percentile of which six students scored above 99.5 percentile. “This is too, an all time record from Goa,” he said congratulating the students for putting in so much effort despite the academic term hit by the pandemic. 

Meanwhile, Prabhudesai said that for the Class XII Board results, which were announced based on internal assessment, the HSS recorded cent percent pass percentage, with all 80 students clearing it with distinction. He said that of the total 80 student, 11 scored above 90 per cent marks while 58 students secured between 80-90 per cent. Eleven students stood between 70-80 per cent marks.
