VASCO: Power Minister and Chairman of Ravindra Bhavan Baina Milind Naik on Wednesday said that the Baina Ravindra Bhavan is finally thrown open to the artistes and the public and the first programme will be held on May 24.
Addressing a news conference, Naik said the entire infrastructure at the Bhavan is in place and the manager has already started accepting bookings for different programmes to be held at the Bhavan.
“People of Vasco were anxious about the functioning of the Bhavan, as it was inaugurated some months back. The delay was due to some minor maintenance work and the election code of conduct. The committee which was already formed could not take any decision and implement it,” informed Naik.
Naik said during the recent committee meeting, decisions have been taken to fix rates of different programmes. “I have urged committee members and other staff of the Bhavan not to put the artistes and the public to any hardship and deal with them patiently,” he said.
“We are open to any suggestion from artistes and general public for the betterment of the Bhavan and we apologise for the delay,” he said.
“We assure full cooperation to the people of Mormugao taluka and different artistes who want to stage their programmes,” added Naik.
