PANJIM: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said that he would finalise recruitment procedures by September, effectively making all recruitments null and void. In order to recruit the officers in a fair and transparent manner, he said the complaints received by the government were being examined.
Parrikar was replying to a starred question by MLA Pandurang Madkaikar on whether Goa Civil Service cadre posts of junior scale officers had been advertised by the Goa Public Service Commission in 2013.
Madkaikar also asked whether the government was aware that there was an undue delay by the Goa Public Service Commission in completion of the recruitment process, to which Parrikar replied that the government believed in transparency and zero tolerance to corruption.
According to information, even the 60 junior scale appointments could be declared null and void.   “By September, after finalization of procedures the results will be announced, deputation posts….. nothing has been finalised. I have not yet received reports,” Parrikar said
In a supplementary, St Cruz MLA Atanasio Babush Monserrate asked who were the GPSC members, to which the chief minister informed him their names.
He then asked as to how they were appointed. The chief minister said that they were appointed as per the procedures and as per criteria that had to be followed.
Curtorim MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco pointed out that issuing of unnecessary advertisements and then cancellation of the entire recruitment process was a complete waste of time.
