MARGAO: Congress Legislature party spokesman Reginaldo Lourenco has slammed the government for transporting stacked ore at Cavrem without transparency.
He said that people of Cavrem are not opposed to mining or transportation of the stacked ore, but were demanding transparency in the entire process.
Addressing the media, Reginaldo said that people were agitated because mining officials had come on the site without documents or plan.  “When I was at the site, a mining official arrived without any documents or the stock plan. This agitated local villagers who raised doubts about the sincerity of the officials in dealing with the issue”, he said. The CLP spokesman trained his guns on the mines officials and the district administration, South, for not putting in place a mechanism to track the quantity of store transported from the site. He said the people were surprised to find representatives of the mining company present around the site instead of the mines officials. “We are only demanding transparency in the entire process. Right from the site till the ore is transported for export, authorities should ensure that only e-auctioned ore is exported and that too within the prescribed limit”, Reginaldo added.
