Abhishek Gomes was born on December 27, 1982 in the village of Cuncolim and after pursuing his BCA, at 24 years in 2006, after completing commander training in Madras, he was posted as PSI of Porvorim Police Station and then at Verna Police Station. Later he was transferred to Konkan Railway Station, Margao and then to Ponda Police Station. Little did anyone realize that his life on earth would be so short lived. He breathed his last on March 16, 2013 in the line of duty. Abhishek was adorable and approachable, brave, humble has integrity, was smart and hardworking, enthusiastic and efficient and kindhearted. He was a man of few words, simple, down to earth and a gentleman.
To lose Abhishek at such a young age was not only painful but unbearable and irreparable.
As Kahlil Gibran said: When you are sorrowful look again in your heart and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.
Truly, Abhishek you were a delight.
