Residents of Colvale panchayat frustrated with frequent power outages

COLVALE: The residents of Koniwada and Ramnagar wards, falling under the jurisdiction of Colvale village panchayat, are expressing their frustration over constant power cuts. This issue has been persisting for the past few days, with the situation worsening over the last three days, leaving residents without any power supply.

The residents find it inhumane that the power cuts are occurring not only during the day but also throughout the night, despite the high temperatures. Local resident Chodankar stated that it has become unbearable to stay in houses without electricity.

Ritesh Varkhandkar, a panch member, highlighted the distress caused by the soaring temperatures, particularly affecting senior citizens and individuals on medication, who are experiencing sleepless nights. Varkhandkar called upon the local minister and the power minister to urgently address this issue; otherwise, the residents may be compelled to take to the streets.

Varkhandkar further criticized the government for focusing on underground cabling for industries while neglecting to resolve the power issues faced by villagers. He urged the government to prioritize finding a solution to the power supply problems in the area.
