VASCO: The all India strike called by major trade unions across country evoked poor response in the port town on Friday.
Except for few nationalized banks, other business establishments and public transport remained operational like any other normal day and operations were held without any hindrance.
Operations at Vasco railway station were normal. Similarly, the strike had no effect on the operations at Dabolim International Airport, as all taxis operated smoothly. Even the KTC buses and other passenger buses from and to Vasco were seen operating like any other normal day.
Vegetable and fish markets, shops and other commercial established, hotels opened and closed down as per their normal timings with no untoward incidents reported at any part of port town.
Even all the industries located at several industrials estates including Sancoale as well as Verna IDC remained opened Friday.
