Revision of electoral rolls from Nov 1

The Electoral Rolls will be available for scrutiny across respective polling stations where the last election for Parliamentary Constituencies and Assembly Constituencies were held.

PANJIM: The Chief Electoral Office (CEO) will begin a month-long special summary revision of the electoral rolls of Assembly constituencies from November 1, with January 3, next year, as the final publication date. 

The target intervention will be new electors, who will be attaining the age of 18 years as on January 1, 2023. Voters who have either passed away or shifted residence or surrendered their voter ID, will be deleted from the photo electoral roll.

Chief Electoral Officer Ramesh Verma on Friday met representatives of political parties regarding preponderant of summary revision schedule and to ensure that maximum enrollment takes place. 

The draft Electoral Rolls will be published on November 1, for general public who will be able to file their claims and objections till November 30. Disposal of claims and objections, if any, will take place on or before December 20. 

The Electoral Rolls will be available for scrutiny across respective polling stations where the last election for Parliamentary Constituencies and Assembly Constituencies were held. The Electoral Rolls are also available for scrutiny in the offices of the concerned Deputy Collectors and Electoral Registration Officers of Pernem, Bicholim, Mapusa, Panjim, Ponda, Margao, Vasco-da-Gama, Quepem, Sattari Dharbandora and Canacona and also in the offices of all the Mamlatdars/Joint Mamlatdars/Assistant Electoral Registration Officers in the State of Goa.

 As on January, this year, Goa had total 11.64 lakh eligible voters.
