According to police, they received a complaint from Dumiana Dourado from Seraulim on Sunday alleging that on February 6, at 10.15 am, one Angelique (32), a resident of Cana Benaulim, drove her Activa Scooter in a rash and negligent manner while proceeding from Seraulim to Mungul. Near Dawiya Bakery road, she collided into the back of a Pleasure scooter carrying former municipal councillor Manuel Dourado, a resident of Mungul, and his wife Maria Magdalina Dourado. Maria, who was on pillion seat, suffered injuries and succumbed to them while undergoing treatment at GMC, Bambolim, on February 19. Colva police have registered offences against the accused under Sections 304-A and 279 of IPC.
