PANJIM: The Goa Human Rights Commission has taken suo motu cognizance of the ‘hardships’ faced by women while travelling in buses in the state.
The Commission has noticed that many issues faced by public in general and passengers in particular.
The Commission felt that it would be appropriate to issue public advertisement eliciting suggestions from general public relating to adequacy of reservation of seats for women passengers in the public transport buses and for prevention of harassment and humiliation to women passengers.
The Commission has called for persons to come forward with suggestions in writing in this regard and submit the same to the Secretary, Goa Human Rights Commission, Old Directorate of Education Building, 1st Floor, 18th June Road, Panjim by April 25.
