SIOLIM: Irate Siolim villagers came out in large number to protest against the road which was widened by slaughtering age old heritage trees. They said that they had not asked for widening of the road. Now the road is not only having potholes, but there are huge ponds of water formed on the road since the water does not flow into the drains, causing accidents on the stretch.
People narrated that several accidents had taken place on the road stretch since the potholes were not visible especially when the potholes are filled with water. Other alleged rampant corruption in the construction of the road, which had been constructed a few months back by butchering trees.
They threatened to file a case against the PWD for the intense corruption which they alleged was involved in the construction of that road.
