PERNEM: Unknown persons on Monday broke open two ATMs located on NH 17 at Dhargal, Pernem and decamped with cash worth Rs 32 lakh.
According to Pernem police, the incident occurred on Monday around 2 am when some unknown persons robbed Rs 32 lakh from two ATMs of State Bank of India and Corporation Bank respectively.
Both the ATMs had no CCTV cameras installed as the robbers escaped with the cash by breaking open the ATMs with the help of gas cutter.
Cash worth Rs 17 lakh were robbed from the SBI ATM located near Sohan Harmalkar Building at Dhargal, while Rs 15 lakh were stolen from the Corporation Bank ATM, which is half a kilometre away from the SBI ATM.
Pernem police conducted the panchanama and are further investigating the case.
This is the second ATM robbery in Pernem in last two months.
