MARGAO: Goemkar Convenor MLA Vijai Sardessai on Tuesday accused a RSS Pracharak and BJP general secretary for allegedly issuing directions to Goa Legislative Assembly Speaker on how to deal with the opposition in the coming Assembly session.
While addressing the huge crowd at the Lohia Maidan this evening, Sardessai said the RSS Pracharak allegedly directed Speaker Rajendra Arlekar not to allow too much time for him and Congress spokesman Reginaldo Lourenco in the Assembly. “I have received this information from the very persons who attended the meeting. Will an Independent MLA get justice in such a scenario. That’s the reason why I decided to hold this public meeting instead of airing my concerns on Dabolim in the Assembly”, he said.

Sardessai also took potshots at the BJP on the issue of family raj. “I have raised family raj during elections for the Youth Congress president. But, I have now realized the BJP is no better. The son of Water Resources Minister, Dayanand Mandrekar has been made the BJP Yuva President”, he said, adding that there’s no difference between the BJP and the Congress on family raj.
