VASCO: Around 70 passengers created ruckus at the Dabolim airport on Sunday night after a private airline cancelled its Goa-Indore flight leaving them in the lurch.
According to some passengers, the flight was earlier scheduled to depart Indore at 8 pm on Sunday but the passengers received SMSes on Saturday night informing them that the flight has been rescheduled and preponed and that it would depart at 4.30 pm on Sunday.
Accordingly, all the passengers reached the airport well in time and also completed all the formalities including boarding pass. But few minutes before departure, they were informed that the flight has developed a technical snag and would be delayed and would now leave at 8 pm.
The passengers became restive as there was no communication from airline authorities till 7 pm and started questioning the staff till the said airline announced the flight cancellation at around 8 pm.
The passengers were further agitated after the airline authorities failed to provide them hotel accommodation and told them to take care of their stay and food at their own cost.
