Pernem: Pernem Police on Sunday arrested 34-year-old Vasily Rakhmanov, a Russian National and seized drugs worth Rs 1.65 crore at Morjim.
According to Pernem Police, based on reliable information, a narcotic raid was conducted by them at H No 714/A, Mardiwada, Morjim between 6.50 am and 10.40 am. During the raid, the accused was found cultivating cannabis plants illegally on the terrace, which was rented to him.
Pernem Police seized cannabis plants weighting around 33 kg worth Rs 1.65 crore.
The raid was conducted by PI Sandesh Chodankar, PSI Sanjit Kandolkar and PSI Vivek Halarnkar, who were assisted by PCs Rupesh Korgaokar, Anant Bhaidkar, Gurudas Mandrekar, Devidas Malkar, Anishkumar Poke, Mahesh Naik and Deu Sarmalkar under the supervision North SP Utkrisht Prasoon.
Pernem Police are further investigating the case.
