Russian dies, 3 rescued by lifeguards

CALANGUTE/CANACONA: A 45-year-old tourist from Russia died, while three tourists were saved by lifeguards in four separate incidents at Candolim, Calangute and Palolem beaches.

CALANGUTE/CANACONA: A 45-year-old tourist from Russia died, while three tourists were saved by lifeguards in four separate incidents at Candolim, Calangute and Palolem beaches.
According to reports, Romashkin Yury from Russia entered in knee level waterline at Candolim beach, when he suddenly collapsed into the water. His family members immediately shifted Yury to the shore. As the victim was facing a breathing problem and vomiting blood, the tourist was later shifted to Candolim Primary Health Centre, where he breathed his last.
At Calangute Beach, a 21-year-old youth from Hubli entered in a non-swim zone when lifeguards advised him to enjoy at low level waterline. 
However, after few minutes, the tourist reached at a certain deeper level and was unable to float. 
Lifeguards rushed to the spot and brought him safely ashore.
In another incident at Calangute Beach, a 25-year-old tourist from Kolkatta was swimming when he got hit by a wave and got trapped into under water current. Lifeguards rushed to the spot and secured the victim.
At Palolem Beach, a group of seven tourists were swimming in a non-swim area when a 25-year-old member from Bangalore was swiftly drifted by a rip current. 
Lifeguards rushed to his aid and brought him to the shore.
