S Goa advocates want process of registration of sale deeds made more user-friendly

MARGAO: The South Goa Advocates Association has urged the government to make more user-friendly the Generic Documents Registration System (NGDRS) currently used for registration of sale deeds in the Sub Registrar Offices.

The Association President Adv Prasad Naik demanded that there should be some arrangements made in each of the offices of the Sub-Registrar so that the public is not sent back for minor typing errors and/or spelling errors and arrangements require to be made to correct such errors at the time of the scheduled registration date without reverting the documents.

Adv Naik also demanded that mutation be done immediately after the registration of the sale deed by the Sub-Registrar Office itself so that people do not again have to approach the respective taluka Mamlatdar for mutation.

The Association brought to the notice of Law Minister Nilesh Cabral that such a practice of completely stopping the editing of data at the stage of final admission is causing great inconvenience to parties, who are signatories to any of the sale deeds.

According to Adv Naik, the Minister has assured them that he would issue immediate instructions to resolve their grievances and try to keep the slots open only to the concerned party whose sale deed requires minor correction and no third party will be permitted to take appointment on such slots.
