S Goa police headquarters again hit by water seepage

Come monsoons, and the barracks in the district police headquarters here are hit by water seepage. This year appears no different despite the work carried out by the PWD.
In fact, a visit to the police barrack revealed that water seepage has raised its ugly head, causing inconveniences to the police constabulary. As a make shift arrangement, the constables have shifted the beds away from the water seepage points.
But, they apprehend that the situation might turn worse in the days ahead after the monsoons hit the state with full fury. “The water seepage has taken place despite the covering of the terrace with asbestos sheets. Just imagine the situation in July and August”, remarked a police constable.
News of the water seepage has reached the police higher-ups, including Sub-divisional police officer, Margao DySP Umesh Gaonkar. Sources in the know say that Gaonkar has asked the police officials to immediately inspect the barracks and intimate the situation to the PWD for necessary action.
