Families rehabilitated due to the construction of the Salaulim Dam held a meeting to discuss their long-pending issues, highlighting unresolved concerns decades after their displacement.
Residents from Waddem and Valkini, who were relocated for the dam project, said that despite 43 years having passed since their sacrifice, they are yet to receive proper justice from the government.
During the meeting, several families voiced their grievances over pending demands, alleging delays in compensation, rehabilitation benefits, and basic amenities. They urged the authorities to take immediate steps to resolve their issues and ensure long-overdue relief.
The affected residents emphasised that their concerns have remained unaddressed for decades and called on the government to act promptly to deliver justice to the displaced communities.
