The Saleli village main road is in a bad shape for the past many years and has developed many potholes. According to villagers many accidents have taken place on this road and they cannot drive the vehicles properly, and suffer from back problems due to the potholes.
For the last five years we are demanding the Government to re-construct the road with hot-mix. The Honda Panchayat has already submitted a file to the PWD Road Department Valpoi. However, this file is pending in the Road department Valpoi, for the past two years, say Saleli villagers.
Saleli villagers also claim that the Goa Government has totally neglected the village from development work. In the past ten years there is no development in our village. Besides this, the local MLA has never visit in their village, they said.
“Our village main road is in a worst condition, the road has got many potholes. Because of this, we are facing many health problems, while riding the vehicles on that road. We demand the Government build a new road before the monsoon,” says Sarvesh Gawas, a villager.
The road is in very bad condition from the village to the Saleli bus stand. We demand the PWD, road department Valpoi to construct our village main road again. Otherwise the number of accidents will increase. Already many accidents have occurred on this road, says another villager Ganesh Gaonkar.
“We have already submitted the development work files of our village to the concerned departments. But the concerned authorities are not taking any action. We had submitted the village road file to the PWD, road department Valpoi two years back but till the date they have not taken any action,” says Shashikala Krishnarao Rane, village panch member and Deputy Sarpanch, Honda Panchayat.
“I am requesting the PWD not to bring politics in this matter. If they are not building our village road before the monsoon starts, we will hold a morcha to the road department Valpoi, says Vishwajeet Krishnarao Rane, BJP leader Poriem constituency.
