SANGUEM: With Sanguem MLA Subhash Phaldessai still adamant on getting the IIT project at Sanguem and hopeful of putting his Plan B into action, the farmers from Sanguem on Tuesday held a litany at the Holy Cross at Kharkhatiaghati, Sanguem, which is devoted to St Anthony.
The Cross is located barely around 100 metres from the now ‘rejected’ IIT site at Cotarli and the farmers would pray at the Cross before they venture into their fields.
The farmers thanked the Almighty for protecting their farm lands and driving away the IIT project from the proposed site for the second time despite all possible attempts by those in power to get the project on their farm lands.
The litany was attended by a large number of farmers from different faiths. The farmers thanked all those who helped them during their agitation and bringing to fore the truth as against the falsities projected by those in power.
