SANGUEM: Sanguem MLA Subhash Phaldessai distributed sanction letters to over 35 truck owners from Sanguem constituency, as part of the BJP government sponsored financial package to truck owners affected due to the sudden closure of mining activity in the State.
Addressing a function at Shrison Plaza hall, Phaldessai took a dig at Congress leaders for questioning the financial package allocated to the affected mining truck owners.
“Since it has come into power, the BJP government has cleared a lot of pending bills of PWD contractors, which the Congress had piled over the years, thereby relieving the contractors of their long-standing dues,” claimed Phaldessai.
“Despite Goa having two MPs from the Congress, both the MPs have failed in taking up the issue of mining affected people before the Central government,” he said.
Among others who spoke on the occasion were Sanguem Municipal Council Chairperson Changuna Salgoankar, BJP Sanguem unit President Manoday Phadte, Prasad Tilve and Prasad Phaldesai.
