PANJIM: The gram sabha of Sao Mathias Panchayat in Divar was held after nearly one-and-a-half years.
The panchayat was questioned as to how development work is being undertaken in Vanxim Island given that the NOC that was granted by the Church in 2013 had lapsed and no fresh permission had been granted.
The other issues taken up included objections to people dumping waste in public spaces, collection of streetlight tax and non-maintenance of SAG ground and multipurpose sports complex.
The Sao Mathias panchayat also announced that a temporary material recovery facility (MRF) has been set up as per directives of the High Court.
