The residents further served a four-day ultimatum on the officials to resolve the issue and threatened to hold an agitation from Monday onwards.
The residents complained that since last six months they have been facing water shortage and blamed the PWD officials for turning a blind eye to the problem.
Over fifty locals mostly women grilled the officials on the water shortage issue and complained that they have been facing water shortage in the last six months as existing borewell has been rendered defunct due to motor breakdown.
They further complained that despite repeated complaints, the concerned officials are not serious on the issue and added that the borewell has not functioning since the last fifteen days. The locals informed that they have been arranging private tankers every alternate day and slammed the department for putting people to severe hardship.
Speaking to the media, Madhu Gaonkar, a villager demanded that the borewell be repaired as early as possible.
