VALPOI: The residents of Sattari have decided to hold a “maha rally” to demand the land ownership rights on January 26 (Republic Day) at Valpoi at 10 am.
Addressing the press conference on Sunday, the Sattari Nagrik Samiti informed that the rally would start from the Valpoi main circle and conclude at Valpoi bus stand. Around 10,000 locals would participate in the rally.
The Samiti accused the government of failing to solve the land right issue of Sattari residents in the last five years.
The Sattari Nagrik Samiti said, “The present government had promised us that they will solve our land ownership rights issue but, failed to do so.”
“If the government fails to solve our land ownership rights issue this year, then we will teach it a lesson in coming Assembly elections, the Sattari Nagrik Samiti warned.
