Bicholim MLA Naresh Sawal has planned a one-day hunger strike on January 4 to protest against the failure of the BJP government to undertake development works in his Bicholim constituency.

Addressing a news conference in Bicholim on Tuesday, Sawal said he will stage his hunger strike near the Chhatrarpati Shivaji Maharaj and Mahatma Gandhiji’s statue at Bicholim.
“The motive behind my protest is to create awareness among the political leaders in the State about dwindling development in Bicholim.”

He also accused for the BJP government of taking Bicholim citizens for granted and added that Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar had forgotten his promise of promoting development in Bicholim constituency.
Sawal also registered his protest against the attack on St Andre MLA Vishnu Wagh and has demanded the arrest of culprits involved in the attack.
The news conference was attended by BMC Deputy Chairperson Narayan Betkikar, Councilor Shashikant Halrankar, Vidhya Parab, Bhagwan Harmalkar, Deelip Dhargalkar, Tulshidas Parab, Kamlesh Bandekar and others.
