PANJIM: In view of Music Festivals in Candolim and Vagator, scheduled
to be held post-Christmas and in view of New Year Celebrations thereafter
along the Baga-Calangute stretch, Traffic Department has enforced
special traffic arrangements till January 1, 2014 to ensure smooth flow of
traffic.
For the Supersonic music festival at Candolim, ( December 26 to 30), the
Candolim-Tito road near football ground upto Shantadurga Temple via St
Theresa Church will be converted into one-way road during peak hours
(from 4pm till midnight). While the entire stretch of Candolim Beach Lane
leading towards the festival venue and the Vaddy Lane stretch (opposite
Nerul Junction) till the festival venue, will be a no-parking zone for any
vehicle during this period.
For Sunburn Music Festival (December 27 to 29), the roads from Arpora to
Narrow Bridge Anjuna, Anjuna Tinto to St Michael Convent High School
via Starco Junction will be made one-way road for vehicles proceeding
towards Vagator. Similarly, the road from Julie Jolly Resort – New Sher E
Punjab Junction – Vagator Chapora Junction – Anjuna petrol pump –
Bobby Bar junction will be one-way for the vehicles exiting from Vagator.
No vehicles will be permitted to park on the entire road from Anjuna Police
Station junction to Thalassa Hut and Let Vagator and from Starco Junction
upto Vagator Chapora junction. The staff on duty have been instructed not
allow any vehicle going to the festival venue without valid pass on the
vehicle.
Elaborate arrangements have also been designed for New Year
celebrations starting from December 23 till January 1, 2014.
